One of the things I enjoy most about this time of year is the extended periods of
reflection. I’ve been this way as long as I can remember: Christmas, birthdays, special
anniversaries, and more have long been opportunities to celebrate, but also to reflect on where God has taken me and what He’s done in the process. This year at MBC has certainly been one to reflect upon.
2025 has been a year for transitions, growth, and excitement at MBC. Personally, I went
from being the Vice President of Student Affairs to the 6th President of the institution. Honestly, while the transition was a welcomed event shared with many in the Billings community and those I’ve shared ministry with in my past, I’m still getting used to being referred to as, “President King.”

As an institution, we’ve experienced a great deal of exciting “growth moments” too. We were blessed to have the opportunity to host Dr. Gary Habermas, world-renowned New Testament scholar, for a weekend focused on resurrection apologetics.
Just a short time later, we announced our formal partnership with local nonprofit ministry CLDI in which we help to provide additional theological education for those participating in their year-long internship program. This exciting partnership allows us to be a part of training those in our community who will be serving God’s kingdom right here in Billings and potentially around the world for the rest of their lives. What an incredible opportunity we are able to take part in!

And as if that wasn’t enough excitement, MBC kicked off its weekend “Equip Conferences,” regular opportunities for us to come alongside local churches and area ministries to provide additional training for any and all who desire to dive deeper into ministry preparation for wherever God has called them. These conferences simultaneously allow us to invest in local ministry leaders from our community while providing alternative class delivery modes for current MBC students.
Certainly, we’ve not had much idle time here on God’s corner this year!

As I reflect on just some of what God has done, I cannot help but be humbled by
the scope of what has come to pass while at the same time expectant about what is possible in 2026. We have big dreams here at MBC, and through faithful donors and robust community partnerships, we will start 2026 off with much excitement.
For the first time in the school’s history, we will be bringing on a full-time Development Director. She will seek to engage with existing financial partners while forging new relationships within our community to ensure partners have opportunity to connect deeply with the mission of MBC as God leads.
In addition, after the 1st of the new year, we will be bringing on a new full-time recruiter who will significantly extend our reach to seek out new students whom God is already calling to be equipped for disciple making in places we cannot yet imagine.
New classes, updated programs, and continued investments in our community round
out just some of the things our MBC faculty and staff are anticipating in the year to come. As
you can see, there’s much to be excited about here on God’s corner in Billings!
Would you like to be a part of it? Would you prayerfully consider how God might have
you partner with us as we continue to “equip future Christian leaders to be gospel-centered
disciple makers for the glory of God and His church?” Would you prayerfully remember the
work yet to be done here as you consider your end of year giving?
If you'd like to learn more about the various ways to join us in the work here at MBC, we’d love talk with you about what God has done and what is still possible.
From all of us here at Montana Bible College, we wish you and your families a very
merry Christmas and a truly blessed New Year!
For Christ, for His Church, and for our Community,

Joe King
Montana Bible College President
