The stage in the Phillips Chapel at Montana Bible College in Billings, Montana, may have been a little smaller than world-renowned Resurrection expert Dr. Gary Habermas is used to, but the scholar didn't mind. For Habermas, 'The Resurrection: Evidence for Hope In This Life and the Next' lecture series held March 21-23 was a bit of a homecoming.
Habermas, who has authored or co-authored over 50 books and 100 articles in addition to giving over 2,000 lectures in seminaries and universities around the world, took some of his first steps in academia as a professor at Montana Institute of the Bible when it was located in Lewistown, Montana, in the 1970s. MIB was the predecessor to MBC, and MBC formally adopted the school and its alumni after MIB had to close in the 1980s.
The Resurrection Conference was well-attended by pastors, nonprofit leaders, and community members -- who relished not only the chance to learn from a leading apologist but to ask him any question on their mind about lecture topics that included:
History or Hoax? The Evidence for the Resurrection of Jesus
Evil, Suffering, and Resurrection Hope
The Reality of Life After Death: Evidence from Near Death Experiences
What Difference Does the Resurrection Make in My Life?

Dr. Habermas is a Distinguished Research Professor of Apologetics and Philosophy at the Liberty University School of Divinity. He has focused his research on the history of Jesus, near-death experiences, the philosophical study of miracles, and the historicity of the resurrection of Jesus.
As the only accredited four-year Bible college in Montana, Montana Bible College strives to provide residents of Billings and the surrounding region with robust learning opportunities that will deepen their faith and equip them to disciple others and live out their calling. Stay tuned for more information on an exciting new learning opportunity: Equip Discipleship Weekend Conferences, to begin in September 2025.
