Mothers who complete their degrees are some of the hardest-working people you’ll meet! Kaitlynne Hanson is a recent graduate of Montana Bible College, earning her Associate of Arts in Biblical Studies.

Kaitlynne completed her degree while settling into her new role as a wife, and later, as a mother to her new baby boy, and while working in ministry with her husband. As Kaitlynne closes the chapter of her college days at MBC, she took some time to share with me about her time in camp ministry, how she balances all her responsibilities, and the peace she finds in resting in God’s plan for the future.

1)   Tell me about the moment you realized you wished to be in ministry, and how Trail's End Ranch affected this decision.

I first realized I wanted to go into ministry when I was 16. I spent a summer at camp and loved seeing how the people at camp could touch the lives of the kids.

2)   How did you navigate becoming a wife and mother, finishing your degree, and serving in ministry?

I was extremely blessed with a flexible schedule. I would do school in the morning or afternoon and then work the other. The weekends would be dedicated to camp retreats, so I had to do all my homework during the week. My husband was very supportive of my classes, gave me a lot of grace, and kept me focused. I finished my classes before giving birth, but throughout pregnancy, I had to push through a lot of needing to stand, morning sickness, and pregnancy brain.

 3)   How has the education you received at MBC equipped you for your God-given calling in ministry?

I got better insight into the Bible and its interpretation. It also taught me about being focused and meeting deadlines on time.

4)   What is a favorite MBC memory?

My favorite memory of MBC is probably the Chapel meetings, getting to have fellowship with fellow students, and learning about various ministries in the area.

5)   Why was serving at Trail's End Ranch important to you?

Trail's End Ranch is important to me because of the impact it has on people. For me personally, it was a place that supported me when I was going through a lot of life changes. For others, it is a place to find healing, Christ, love, and support. I see how it changes people.

6)  What do you anticipate your future ministry will look like in the coming years?

Since leaving camp, my ministry has been being a wife and mother, volunteering at church, and volunteering at Trails End Ranch frequently.

7)  Anything else you wish to share?

Life changes fast, and it is exciting to see what God has next! Things may not go according to your plan, but you can rest assured that God’s plan will come to fruition!

Indeed, life rarely goes according to our plans. Kaitlynne’s focus on trusting God’s plan is an important practice for any Christian. God’s plan is always best. And as she can testify, His plan for her has been full of many blessings. She has a sweet husband, a new baby, and a new degree in hand, ready for the next chapter. I have no doubt God has amazing plans for Kaitlynne’s future, and she will trust Him every step of the way.
